This privacy policy explains how The Courtship Network handles your personal information and data, and applies to all of the products, services and websites offered by The Courtship Network Pty Ltd except where otherwise noted. The Courtship Network products, services and websites are collectively referred to as the “services” in this policy. Unless otherwise noted, all services are provided by The Courtship Network Pty Ltd, which is based in Australia.

In this policy, “you” refers to those who use and/or interact with any or all of our products, services, and websites, and “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to The Courtship Network. “Customer”(s) refers specifically to those who use The Courtship Network services.

THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND LINKS

The Services may include content or links from third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When we use the term “personal data” or “personal information” in this Policy, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to you. It does not include aggregated or deidentified information that is not reasonably capable of being associated with or linked to you.

You choose to give us certain information when using our services. This includes:

  • Personal details. When you submit an application, you provide us with basic personal details – name, age, gender, location, plus your contact information including email address and links to your social media pages.

    Location data will be collected if you have provided a location field on your profile, however we do not use device location data or any other GPS tracking.
  • Media and communications. When you create your profile and share photos on the Courtship Network, such activity may result in sharing information about you as a person, your interests or your life in general.
  • Payment information. When making a payment, you provide us with information related to the purchases you make and our payment processors with information such as your debit or credit card number or other financial information.
  • Survey data. When you participate in surveys, focus groups or market studies, you give us your insights into our products and services, responses to our questions and testimonials.
  • Messaging. If you contact us (e.g., through our customer care team or on social media), we collect the information you give us during the interaction. We process your chats with our support team on the platform or other mediums including social media and email.

    We do have the capability to store and access your private messages with other members.
  • Information provided by others. Other users may provide information about you as they use our services, for instance as they interact with you or if they submit a report involving you.

INFORMATION GENERATED OR AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED WHEN YOU USE OUR SERVICES

When you use our services, this generates technical data about which features you’ve used, how you’ve used them and the devices you use to access our services.

  • Usage Information. Using the services generates data about your activity on our services, for instance how you use them (e.g., when you logged in, features you’ve been using, actions taken, information shown to you, referring webpages address and ads that you interacted with).

It’s important to note that we do not engage in the “sale” of your personal data, use it for “targeted advertising” or “profiling” that could significantly impact your legal rights, as defined by applicable state laws. We do not use any data to train machine learning, however we cannot guarantee that any data collected by third parties social networks or services will be used for machine learning purposes.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. If you decide to stop using our services, we may keep the information we have collected up until you left. The information we keep will be limited on the basis of our legitimate interest and data that is necessary for the investigation of unlawful conduct, legal data retention obligations, anticipation of potential litigation or any matter pertaining to the safety of our users.

  • Uninstall. You can stop all information collection by an app by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for your device. Remember that uninstalling an app does NOT close your account. To close your account, please use the corresponding functionality on the service.
  • Account closure. You can close your account by using the corresponding functionality directly on the service.

  • Access. You may have the right to request a copy of the information we keep about you, and in certain circumstances to receive this in a portable format.
  • Delete. You may request that we delete the personal information we keep about you. Please note that we may not be able to provide you with the Services if we do not have information from you that pertains to the essential function of the service.
  • Update. You can correct most information you provided to us by editing your profile directly in the service. If you believe the information we hold about you is inaccurate, you may contact us to rectify it.
